Sound Proof Insulating Liner is a ‘Paste the Wall Product Only’. We recommend the adhesive should be applied with a roller directly on to the wall.

Can Sound Proof Insulating Liner help? My Neighbours complain I am noisy.

Sound Proof Insulating Liner is best suited to rooms where you want to absorb the noise within it. For example, noise could be entering the room through an open window, single glazed window or from a source within it (eg; vacuum cleaner). In such cases, internal application of the Sound Proof Insulating Liner will help absorb sound and stop it bouncing around as well as reduce the noise escaping through surfaces into other rooms. In an incidence of noise problems from an adjoining room it can be used to best effect by using it in the room that is generating the noise, not in the room adjacent.

How to tackle external corners with Sound Proof Insulating Liner?

Well you have 2 options, Sound Proof Insulating Liner will bend around the corner and this will give you a rounded corner. Alternatively you can cut and butt joint at the corner, this option is best if you are applying a Wallrock Lining Paper or Wallrock Textured paper on top as it will hide the joint.

Can I apply Sound Proof Insulating Liner on ceilings?

Yes, but before applying Sound Proof Insulating Liner  you must lightly sand the ceiling and size with a PVA or Flake Adhesive, which will form a good surface for the Thermal Liner Adhesive to adhere to.

When applying Sound Proof Insulating Liner, it springs back off the wall, especially near the end of the roll?

The roll of Sound Proof insulating Liner is tightly wound up during manufacture, so therefore we recommend that the rolls are opened and left on their ends to unravel naturally for approximately 24 hours before hanging.

Is it ok to put more than one layer of Sound Proof Insulating Liner on?

Yes, just make sure that the first layer of Sound Proof Insulating Liner has dried out completely before applying another layer; you must use the Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive.

Can I paint directly on to the Sound Proof Insulating Liner?

Yes you can because the surface of the Sound Proof Insulating Liner is a smooth Lining Paper.

Why recommend lining over the top of Sound Proof Insulating Liner?

We recommend lining over the top of Sound Proof Insulating Liner for Two main reasons -1) Makes it much easier to achieve a nice neat finish with minimal filling and sanding. 2) It helps your investment from damage creating a good base for paint or decorative wallpaper at the same time.

Important – If you are planning to hang lining paper on top of Sound Proof Insulating Liner, we strongly recommend that you use a non-woven lining paper such as Wallrock Fibreliner Plus, Wallrock Fibreliner or Wallrock premium.Traditional lining paper shrinks and expands when pasted and can cause lifting on the joints In contrast; non-woven lining paper is dimensionally stable and ensures a perfect finish.

Before using Sound Proof Insulating liner, do we need to take off the existing Wallpaper?

No, if the existing wallpaper is firmly stuck to the wall then Sound Proof Insulating Liner should cover it.  However if it has a deep pattern (more than 3mm) or is a Vinyl based paper we would recommend that it is taken off before applying the Sound Proof Insulating Liner.

Does Sound Proof Insulating Liner really work?

Yes, Sound Proof Insulating Liner is made from specially developed sound absorbing foam and laminated with a thick lining paper. The polyurethane foam structure acts like a sponge, reducing echo and deadening noise, and is particularly effective in combating high frequency sounds.
