Wallrock Thermal Liner
Before applying Wallrock Thermal Liner, I have some really bad textured walls, do I need to take special precautions over such poor surfaces?
Not really, just make sure the walls are clean, dry and solid before applying Wallrock Thermal Liner. If the texture is very deep as with some decorative plaster effects it is advisable to sand down the high points and use extra adhesive to help level the surface. We would advise that after hanging the first drop stand back and make sure the results are satisfactory.
How does Wallrock Thermal Liner work?
Wallrock Thermal Liner works in a different way to traditional insulating products. For a start we realise that rooms are rarely heated constantly 24 / 7. So Wallrock Thermal Liner works by reducing warm up times dramatically as is begins to work immediately the heating is turned on because it is on the inside of the outside wall. Conventional products only work after the inside wall has being heated which can take hours – the very time you are likely to be in the room. Once the room has warmed up Wallrock Thermal continues to resist energy loss.
With Wallrock Thermal Liner, it is OK saying I will save money but will I physically notice a difference?
With Wallrock Thermal Liner, yes you will, especially when the heating is first turned on as room warm up time is reduced dramatically and the air currents that make you feel cold whilst the room warms up are also reduced. This is of course in addition to all the other benefits such as a reduction in noise through the treated wall.
I like Wallrock Thermal Liner, however I’m worried about how it will look around light switches and skirting boards?
Wallrock Thermal Liner is less than 3.2mm thick and a neat finish is therefore possible in most applications, skirting, coving or light switches for example do not appear to be ‘sunk’ below the wall surface. Don’t forget, WallrockThermal Liner works best on outside walls, significant benefits can be achieved without the need to apply it to every internal surface.
I like Wallrock Thermal Liner, where in the house can I use it for best effect?
Wallrock Thermal Liner is certainly most effective as an energy saver on outside walls and especially so if the walls are of solid construction (without cavities). However other key benefits of the product include acting as a sound insulation and covering over textured surfaces to produce a flat surface.
Wallrock Thermal Liner, why do you recommend lining over the top of it?
Two main reasons for lining over the top of Wallrock Thermal Liner – 1) Makes it much easier to achieve a nice neat finish with minimal filling and sanding. 2) It helps your investment from damage creating a good base for paint or decorative wallpaper at the same time.
Important – If you are planning to hang lining paper on top of Wallrock Thermal Liner, we strongly recommend that you use a non-woven lining paper such as Wallrock Fibreliner Plus, Wallrock Fibreliner or Wallrock premium.
Traditional lining paper shrinks and expands when pasted and can cause lifting on the joints In contrast; non-woven lining paper is dimensionally stable and ensures a perfect finish.
